TRAVEL: Serrania del Hornocal
Serranía del Hornocal, Jujuy. Argentina
Serranía del Hornocal, Jujuy. Argentina

So much majesty manifested at Serrania del Hornocal, one of the wonders of the province of Jujuy, in my immensely beautiful Argentina. It makes my heart race, feel incredibly inspired and a bit closer to my home country.

This spectacular limestone formation offers a symphony of colours on the mountainside and some say, reaches the 33 shades ranging from ocher, green, yellow, and even white. These strata were underground for thousands of years. One of the most famous viewpoints of this mountainous area is about 25 kilometers along Provincial Route 73, from the city of Humahuaca.

It only takes about 40 minutes drive in a normal car -with care-, to a viewpoint facing the hill. It's prettiest from 4pm onward, when the western sun brings out vivid hues and you will experience a silent and majestic spectacle.  At that time, we can imagine the grandeur of these landscapes in the time still lived the Incas.

It is a landscape that calls to be contemplated, to stand in front of him for a moment or for a long time in which we would feel insignificant in contrast to its magnificence.

I’m really looking forward to visiting Argentina soon and being able to admire El Hornocal in the flesh.
